Dear Fresh Start Family:

Our hearts are deeply saddened and heavy with grief today as our nation mourns the loss of the innocent lives of 19 children and two adults, with several injured; this, on the heels of the massacre in Buffalo, NY last week, of 10 African American souls ripped from us.

In all honesty, I, as a mother, daughter, sister, Grammy and MeMaw, and your pastor, am grief-stricken today. I am grappling with the trauma of it all. I am tired! I fully understand that none of this is about me, but perhaps you, like me are feeling many of the emotions, anxiety, trauma, stress, and yes, even anger that millions of others across this nation are feeling today.

I just want you to hear it from your Pastor..."It's OKAY, NOT to be OKAY today."
It is unimaginable to know what the families in Buffalo are feeling as they lay their loved ones to rest, and what the families in Uvalde are dealing with trying to make sense of the senseless!

My only ask is that we begin to pray...LIKE NEVER BEFORE. We are in the last days, don't let anyone fool you! Satan knows his time is short.

Bible Study is cancelled tonight, we will not be gathering at Church, but I want you to gather at home, praying, talking to your children, comforting one another, and finding strength in God. Below, is a resource to help in talking to School age children about gun violence.

We will see you tomorrow night for Church cleanup of the lower level beginning at 6pm.

In all of this, WE HAVE HOPE:
1 Corinthians 15:19 (NLT)
"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable."

I love you, your Pastor
